Join us as a Maintenance Manager

We’re looking for a Maintenance Manager to join our Ottawa team and lead site reliability, maintenance, and utilities with strategic vision and hands-on leadership.As the Maintenance Manager, you will ensure that our production runs smoothly, safely, and sustainably. You’ll drive equipment reliability, utilities performance, and capital investments—enabling our biological solutions to be delivered efficiently to customers worldwide. You will play a critical role in shaping the future of maintenance at Novonesis Ottawa.

In This Role You'll Make An Impact By

• Leading all maintenance, reliability, and utilities functions to support manufacturing performance targets.
• Ensuring continuous uptime of equipment, process control systems, and critical utilities.
• Developing strategic maintenance plans and managing capital projects with a 5-year horizon.
• Monitoring departmental KPIs, budgets, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Coaching and developing a high-performing technical team in a culture of ownership and innovation.
• Collaborating with local and global stakeholders in engineering, sourcing, and production.
• Driving compliance with GMP, safety, and environmental standards—including ISO 14001.
  
  

To Succeed You Must Hold

• A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related technical discipline.
• Minimum 7 years of progressive maintenance leadership experience in a manufacturing setting.
• Proven track record in equipment reliability, DCS/system oversight, utilities management, and capital planning.
• Strong people leadership skills and experience building high-performing teams.
• Familiarity with GMP, ISO, and sustainability-driven operations is an asset.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
