Job summary

Responsibilities

• Continuously improve maintenance performance to support production, safety and productivity.
• Control costs to stay within budget.
• Ensure Health, Safety and Environmental regulations are complied with.
• Be part of the Fergus Management Team.
• Address daily breakdowns quickly and effectively.
• Stay current with maintenance systems and drive continuous improvement.
• Implement Nexans Excellence Way in Maintenance program.
• Create a roadmap for maintenance improvements.
• Coordinate with other Plant functions to identify problem areas and set objectives.
• Support hiring, discipline, and terminations as needed.
• Identify training needs for maintenance staff to maintain high workmanship.

• Maintain morale and foster a productive team environment.
• Control expenses and implement cost-reduction measures.

Responsibilities

• Manage the Fergus Maintenance Department to ensure machinery and the facility are in good working order to achieve production requirements.
• Continuously improve Maintenance performance in support of production, safety and productivity goals.
• Manage costs to stay within budget.
• Ensure that all Health and Safety as well as Environmental regulations are complied with.
• Part of Fergus Management Team.
• Manage daily breakdowns quickly and effectively.
• Keep abreast of developments related to maintenance systems to ensure the Company is operating in the most efficient and cost effective manner and that objectives for continuous improvement are achieved.
• Understand and implement Nexans Excellence Way in Maintenance program.
• Create roadmap for Maintenance improvement.
• Work with other functions of the Plant to be aware of activities and recognize key problem areas and define objectives to improve. Support as needed.
• Support/manage hiring, discipline, terminate as required.
• Identify training needs for the Maintenance staff to ensure a high level of workmanship.
• Review salary employee’s performance and career plans accordingly.
• Maintain employee morale and encourage a team environment in order to ensure a positive and productive work force.
• Control expenses to ensure that the budget is maintained and implement any expense reduction measures.
• Maintain equipment calibrations.
• Monthly reporting of Maintenance KPIs.
