GENERAL SUMMARY:

Responsible for the maintenance of all process equipment throughout the plant. Supervision and support teams to develop the continuous improvement and safety performance programs.


ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
  1. The function is to provide leadership to all teams, to satisfy our customers, and achieve superior business results.
  2. Provide Leadership in the area of Safety Performance.
  3. Ensure that all employees work in a safe manner to support the corporate safety goals.
  4. Ensure appropriate resources are available to all staff to achieve corporate safety goals.
  5. Measure, Monitor, Audit and Evaluate Safety Performance at all operations.
  6. Communicate the importance of health and safety to all employees, contractors and visitors.
  7. Design and lead long term improvement plans for the facilities.
  8. Monitor the performance and effectiveness of all operations.
  9. Effectively manage company assets.
  10. Be dedicated to employee development and succession planning principles.
  11. Responsible for Team Development.
  12. Understand safety with high regard to OHS and company policies.
  13. Excel in workplace coaching skills.
  14. Help team meet business plan goals.
  15. Act as a coach, teacher and problem solver.
  16. Support team in:
    1. Developing standard work procedures.
    2. Developing job skills.
    3. Applying the 4 rules of production.
    4. Developing problem solving skills.
    5. Looking for things that are not ideal.
  17. Monitor team performance and maintain records.
  18. Coordinate with other teams and leadership team.
  19. Analyze cause and effects.
  20. Provide for optimum maintenance of plant equipment.
  21. Recommend and carry out approved capital projects.
  22. Provide management of inventories.
  23. Drive the LEAN manufacturing program.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
  1. Ability to plan, organize and monitor activities according to priorities.
  2. Establish and meet schedules, deadlines and quotas.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
  1. Trade background an asset.
  2. First aid, Hazard ID, WHIMIS.
  3. Experience in plant environment.
  4. Supervision skills.
  5. Computer skills – Microsoft Office, front end systems, QC systems.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  1. Prolonged periods of walking, sitting, standing, and lifting.
  2. Ability to travel over various terrains and to different locations within the Western Region.
  3. Occasional climbing, stooping, bending.
  4. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
  1. Typical of a production facility – Increased dust and noise levels.
  2. Salary Range: $90k.
