Job summary

A non-profit community organization in Northwestern Ontario is seeking a Facilities / Maintenance Lead responsible for the upkeep of its buildings and grounds. The ideal candidate will have experience in facilities maintenance, knowledge of mechanical systems such as HVAC, and a valid driver's licence. This role requires collaboration with team members and occasional travel to other locations.

Qualifications

  • 4 years of experience in a maintenance position or related experience.
  • Experience in Facilities Maintenance and HVAC control systems preferred.
  • Valid Class G Ontario Driver's Licence and access to a reliable vehicle.

Position Summary

The Facilities / Maintenance Lead is responsible for the maintenance, repairs and upkeep of Agency buildings, security systems and grounds. This includes maintaining required documentation, logs, and preventative maintenance schedules. The Facilities / Maintenance Lead collaborates with supervisors and other Team Members to determine the prioritization of work across all sites and prepares specifications for projects while liaising with contractors.

Knowledge and Skills Required :

  • Skilled in minor repairs / renovations.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of mechanical systems such as : heating; HVAC control systems, air conditioning, security systems, fire panel systems, etc.
  • Ability to use various tools and equipment required for the upkeep and maintenance of Agency buildings and grounds.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills and basic computer skills required.
  • Must be willing to travel, as required, to other sites in the region and work some flexible hours.

Qualifications :

  • Must possess a High School Diploma with four years of experience in a maintenance position or related experience.
  • Experience in Facilities Maintenance, HVAC control systems and property maintenance / property management preferred.
  • Required :

  • Must possess a valid Class G Ontario Driver's Licence and have access to a reliable vehicle with OPCF6A Insurance endorsement and minimum of $1000 000.00 Liability.
  • Satisfactory Criminal Record Check, Internal Records Check and Driver’s Abstract.
