Job summary

Thompson Construction Group in Fort McMurray, AB is hiring a Maintenance Laborer / Service Truck Operator to support maintenance of heavy equipment on site. You will operate a service truck, perform track cleaning and chipping, and assist technicians with maintenance tasks in a safety‑minded environment.

Candidates should have a Class 5 license (Air Brake preferred), CSO certification, and the ability to pass drug tests. Fluency in English is required for daily site communications.

Qualifications

• Valid Class 5 Driver's License required.
• Air Brake (Q) endorsement preferred.
• CSO certification required.
• Experience operating service trucks or working around heavy equipment preferred.
• Must be able to pass a pre-access drug and alcohol test.
• Proficient in English, both verbally and written.

Responsibilities

• Operate a service truck safely and in accordance with site requirements.
• Perform track chipping, undercarriage cleaning, and equipment housekeeping.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
• Transport tools, fuel, lubricants, and maintenance supplies.
• Assist Heavy Duty Technicians and Service Technicians with maintenance activities.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment.
• Follow all company and client safety policies and procedures.

We are seeking a Maintenance Laborer / Service Truck Operator to support maintenance operations in the Fort McMurray area. The primary responsibility is operating a service truck and performing track cleaning and chipping activities on tracked heavy equipment. equipment. Successful candidates will also work to support Heavy Duty Technicians and Service Technicians by performing various required laborer tasks.

• Operate a service truck safely and in accordance with site requirements.
• Perform track chipping, undercarriage cleaning, and equipment housekeeping.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
• Transport tools, fuel, lubricants, and maintenance supplies.
• Assist Heavy Duty Technicians and Service Technicians with maintenance activities.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment.

Candidates with site experience preferred.
