Job summary

Ardent Mills in Saskatoon is looking for a Maintenance Journeyman Millwright to ensure the optimal health of equipment through maintenance and repairs. The ideal candidate will possess a Red Seal Millwright Journeyman ticket and have at least 2 years of relevant experience. Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience as a Millwright Journeyman performing PMs and equipment repairs.
  • Knowledge of the Maintenance Reliability process and Predictive Technologies.
  • Basic knowledge of safety, food safety, and environmental regulations.

Reporting to the Maintenance Manager at the Saskatoon Mill, the Maintenance Journeyman Millwright is responsible for ensuring optimum asset health by maintaining, repairing, inspecting, and modifying equipment in a safe and cost-effective manner.

Principal Accountabilities:

Perform scheduled and reactive corrective maintenance on facility assets

Perform scheduled preventive and predictive maintenance

Participate in meetings and training activities

Participate in the plant safety program

Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned including minor mechanical repairs

Qualifications:

Required:

Possession of Red Seal Millwright Journeyman ticket

Minimum 2 years’ experience as a Millwright Journeyman performing PMs and equipment repairs

Welding and fabrication abilities

Working knowledge of power transmission and precision maintenance methods

Basic knowledge of all industry safety, food safety, and environmental regulations and requirements

Knowledge of the Maintenance Reliability process and Predictive Technologies

Good written and verbal communication skills

Ability to work various shifts

Must be willing to obtain a Fireman’s certification for low pressure boiler operation within 1 year

Preferred:

Machinist (machining) capability is an asset.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions (With or without reasonable accommodation):

Ability to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) as is required by the operating areas (i.e., safety glasses, protective footwear, hearing protection and, at times, a respirator)

Ability to work in a food production facility that operates complex machinery to produce flour and grain related products

Heat/cold temperatures are a minor factor

Dusty environment(Medical certification for respiratory protection will be required)

Frequent moving/vibration/ or other motion of equipment/processes

Elevated places, to include stairs/ladders

Must be authorized to work in Canada without sponsorship now and in the future

Our salary ranges are broad, and individual salary will be market competitive based on a candidate’s unique set of skills and level of experience. The starting range for this position is $0.00 - $0.00, with additional earning potential possible commensurate with experience. Additionally, we believe that our team members are the reason for our success and all team members are incentive eligible with a target based on contribution, company performance, and individual results achieved.
