Your Role and Responsibilities

Job Purpose:

The Maintenance Helper supports the Maintenance department by assisting Tool & Die Makers, Electricians, and Millwrights with priority and preventative maintenance activities.

Responsibilities:

• Complete new or ongoing projects (e.g., 5S, Tool maintenance)
• Conduct necessary audits (e.g., 5S, LPA)
• Organize and clean shop floor areas
• Suggest corrective actions and continuous improvements
• Assist with coil storage cleaning and organizing
• Maintain general plant housekeeping (basement, tenant floors, cupboards, backyard)
• Ensure work areas are clean, neat, and free of scrap materials
• Adhere to all health and safety procedures
• Support team members in achieving work goals
• Communicate daily with Team Leaders and team members
• Back up Production Associates as needed
• Assist with implementing new principles and practices
• Complete daily, weekly, and monthly checklists
• Assist in changeovers
• Perform other relevant duties as directed by Tool Room or Maintenance Team Leaders/Managers

Key Requirements:

• Grade 12, GED, or equivalent
• Trades-related training or apprenticeship is an asset
• Must have or be able to obtain a Forklift License
• Must have or be able to obtain Overhead Crane Certification
• Must have or be able to obtain Aerial Lift Platform Certification
• Proficiency with computer systems and software
