Job summary

Winnipeg Regional Health Authority in Winnipeg, MB seeks a casual trades helper for the Regional Distribution Facility. The role supports maintenance tasks in an institutional setting, with days and evenings shifts.

Work arrangement is in person, with 7.75 daily hours and a start date anticipated for 10/09/2026. Two years of trades-related maintenance experience and Grade 12 education are preferred, along with a Manitoba driver’s license and strong English communication skills.

Experience

• Must have two years’ experience in assisting with trades-related maintenance work in institutional buildings or a manufacturing production environment.

Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)

• Complete Grade 12 education, Manitoba standards, preferred.

Certification/Licensure/Registration

• Current and valid Manitoba driver’s license preferred.

Qualifications and Skills

• Must have excellent English communication skills, both oral and written.

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to withstand short periods of strenuous activity.
• Heavy lifting may be involved.
• Must be able to work in temperature extremes.
• Must be able to safely use hand and power tools and possess the knowledge to safely do so.
• Entrance into confined spaces and working on ladders or lift platforms is common.
• Must be able to wear personal protective equipment (e.g. half face respirators, fall protection harnesses, work gloves, hearing protection and steel toe safety shoes.).
• Must be able to work on weekends, rotating shifts and be able to change shifts as required to complete maintenance tasks when necessary, in accordance with the Collective Agreement.

This position requires a current satisfactory Criminal Records Check (including Vulnerable Sector Search), Child Abuse Registry Check and Adult Abuse Registry Check as conditions of employment. The successful candidate will be responsible for any service charges incurred. A security check is considered current if it was obtained no more than six (6) months prior to the start of employment.
