Job summary

Southbridge Care Homes operates long-term care homes across Ontario and is seeking a Maintenance Helper at Eagle Terrace LTC in Newmarket. This role supports the maintenance department, handles painting, general upkeep, and ensures compliance with company standards during day shifts.

The candidate will assist with property maintenance including exterior duties like snow removal, lighting, and garbage management.

Qualifications

• Post-Secondary Certificate in Skill trades or related program or high level of experience.
• One year or more of experience in a similar position with working knowledge of electrical and mechanical home operations.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills required.
• Ability to multitask, time management and can work independently.
• Ability to prioritize work and must be able to work in fast paced environment.

Responsibilities

MAINTENANCE HELPER

Home: Eagle Terrace LTC

Location: Newmarket, ON

Salary Range: $24/ hour

Position: Maintenance Helper

Status: Part Time

Schedule: 8:00 am-4:00pm

Reports to: Environmental Service Manager

The Maintenance will be responsible for specific operations related to mechanical, electrical and maintenance departments. Our Maintenance Aide will be the first point of contact for any concerns related to the facilities of the home.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide support in the maintenance department, painting operations of the home, general upkeep, as well as making sure everything is as per the company standards.
• Assist with the property maintenance including exterior duties including snow removal property lightning, garbage, and other general operations.
• Other duties as required.
• Participates in company meetings as assigned. Attends in-service education programs.

Knowledge and Skills Required:

• Post-Secondary Certificate in Skill trades or related program or high level of experience.

Additional Requirements include

• A negative vulnerable sector check completed within 6 months of start date.

• TB screening documentation as required under the Southbridge Care Homes’ Tuberculosis (TB) Screening Policy
