Who We Are Seeking:

A skilled and hands-on leader to supervise and mentor a team maintaining roads, parking lots, signage, and related infrastructure in support of CVTCs mission to help our community thrive. The Maintenance Foreman oversees staff, operates heavy equipment, and ensures safe, efficient, and high-quality work while also performing general labor, equipment upkeep, and shop maintenance.

Qualifications, Education & Experience:

  • 3 to 5 years of experience including:
    • At least 3 years operating heavy equipment and CDL trucks
    • At least 2 years of supervisory experience
    • Training available for CNV Tribal
  • Strong interpersonal, customer service, and leadership skills with the ability to work well with diverse teams and build positive working relationships.
  • Proven problem-solving, time management, and organizational abilities
  • Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment
  • Comfortable with Microsoft Office or similar software; willingness to learn new systems

Certificates and Licenses: A valid Alaska Commercial Drivers license and the ability to be insured on CVTCs vehicle insurance policy is a requirement of this position. Must obtain and maintain a DOT Medical Card, the physical exam is required every 24 months unless otherwise specified by the medical examiner.

Pre-Employment Drug Screening and Background Check: This position requires you to complete and pass a pre-employment state and federal background check and drug screening as a condition of employment.

Hiring Preferences: As allowed in P.L. 93-638, preference for employment will be given to Alaska and American Indian peoples. CVTC also applies family and local hiring preferences.
