Your new company

You will be working for a manufacturing company located near West End, Southampton, so a car driver would be required to get to the site. The role has a temp-to-perm opportunity, paying £36-38k.

Your new role

You will oversee the maintenance of the building and ensure it meets all regulatory requirements. This would include:

  1. Inspecting a building and its operations to determine vital services, repairs, and maintenance.
  2. Conducting hands-on repairs (when able) of the building and machinery, and utilising outside contractors when not.
  3. Managing building and system emergencies as they arise.
  4. Sourcing contractors and suppliers for repairs, maintenance, cleaning, renovations, waste disposal, water management, etc.
  5. Developing building plans outlining strategies for improving efficiency, reducing costs, and forecasting the facility's future needs.
  6. Writing maintenance reports.
  7. Ensuring compliance with all safety and security protocols.

What you'll need to succeed

You should be an experienced Maintenance / FM manager comfortable with both hands-on maintenance and ensuring all paperwork, procedures, and management of contractors meet expected quality standards. Experience with waste management, water, fire drills, and process documentation is essential. On the mechanical side, previous maintenance experience is ideal, along with a willingness to develop new skills and learn about machinery to perform basic repairs on-site.

What you'll get in return

This role can be a temp-to-perm position paying £24.50 to £25.80 per hour (umbrella DOE) or an immediate start permanent role with a salary of £36-38k plus benefits, based on a 37.5-hour week.
