Job description

POSITION SUMMARY

As a member of the maintenance cleaning and coating team this position will be responsible to clean and re-coat paint booths inside and out including the duct work and clean and prepare all types of surfaces for industrial painting and coatings.


WHAT YOU WILL DO:

  • Maintain all Paint, APL and Corrosion booths.
  • Replace fan and on-gun filters inside Weld Shop.
  • Operate floor grinding, concrete cleaning and preparation equipment.
  • Complete minor drywall patches and repairs.
  • Painting drywall surfaces and trims with rollers and brushes as required.
  • Use of paint stencils or masking to paint floor lines, operate paint spraying equipment
  • Keep work area and equipment clean and organized with 5S guidelines.
  • Complete special facility clean-up projects as assigned.
  • Complete tasks ensuring performance targets are met.
  • Attention to detail is critical for this position.
  • Possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Able to work effectively with minimum supervision.
  • Ability to operate above listed machinery as well as operate forklift, scissor lifts and boom lifts while adhering to safety practices and procedures.
  • A requirement to hold a valid driver’s license or successfully complete New Flyer’s lift truck program – operator medical form (available in Human Resources).
  • Must be available to work at heights and confined spaces and have previous paint experience.
  • Positive individual willing to accept challenges in a fast paced environment
  • Maintain high level of professionalism when dealing individuals and problems.

  • Shift requirements: Primary shift: 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM. Night shift (11:30 PM – 7:30 AM) may be assigned based on union seniority.
