Position Overview

We are seeking students with a background in Mechanical Engineering who are interested in gaining hands-on experience in an industrial environment. Candidates must be willing to commute or relocate to the area for the duration of the co-op. Applicants should be enrolled in a Canadian post-secondary institution throughout the co-op term and must provide proof of a valid work permit if applicable. Salary is based on academic progress and prior co-op experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead safety initiatives and adhere to safety and environmental protocols
• Assist in project management and maintenance coordination within the processing plant
• Monitor budgets and suggest cost-effective solutions
• Collaborate with engineering, operations, and maintenance teams on project designs
• Coordinate maintenance and shutdown schedules
• Support operational troubleshooting and repairs
• Innovate to improve business processes

Qualifications

• Enrolled in an Undergraduate Mechanical Engineering program or equivalent
• Valid Class 5 driver’s license; vehicle access preferred
• Ability to follow a clean-shaven policy and wear a full face respirator
• Comfortable working in confined spaces and industrial environments
• Self-motivated with multitasking skills
• Strong communication skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with CAD software is an asset
