CMP is a global manufacturing company with 6 manufacturing and distribution facilities throughout Canada the United States Italy Australia and China. CMP supplies the recreational and commercial marine industries with a broad range of products for various industry segments including anchoring & ground tackle corrosion dock & boat accessories and steering & controls. CMP manufactures and distributes products under the brands Martyr Rocna Vulcan Titan Panther Dock Edge Octopus Intellisteer Sanitation Equipment and Trollmaster. We are seeking a Maintenance Engineer to join the team in our Delta BC location.

Overview

Reporting to the Maintenance Manager the Maintenance Engineer (Industrial Maintenance) is a full-time position responsible for installing inspecting adjusting and repairing equipment while following safety rules and regulations. You will be required to maintain all equipment to required standards and be responsive to production needs and equipment failures. You work as part of a team but would routinely perform work independently and maintain a high level of accuracy and safety while performing your duties.

Responsibilities

• Reading diagrams and schematic drawings to determine work procedures.
• Installing stationary industrial machinery and mechanical equipment according to layout plans using hand and power tools
• Inspecting and examining machinery and equipment to detect irregularities and malfunctions
• Adjusting machinery and repairing or replacing defective parts
• Operating machine tools to fabricate parts required during overhaul, maintenance or set-up of machinery
• Ensuring operating safety devices function properly on completion of repairs, modifications and installations
• Participating in the PM program on all equipment for continuous improvement of all machines
• Keeping detailed and accurate maintenance reports and documentation
• Cleaning, lubricating and performing other routine maintenance work on machinery
• Adhering to workplace safety policies, regulations and compliances
• Maintaining a clean and environmentally safe work area
• Performing other related duties as assigned

• Adhere to all company safety SOPs and equipment safety features

Requirements

• 1-2 years relevant work experience; Red Seal / apprentice experience is an asset but not required
• 1-2 years of experience or understanding of electrical / electronic troubleshooting
• 1-2 years of experience with MIG welding; TIG welding is an asset
• 1-2 years of experience or working knowledge of safety standards of equipment
• Comfortable lifting up to 50 pounds
• Own tools / equipment: steel-toed safety boots. Tools supplied
• Flexible to accommodate shift changes based on work exigencies
• Comfortable working independently without supervision and meeting tight deadlines, and also in a team environment
• Able to deal with people sensitively, tactfully, diplomatically and professionally
• Effectively communicate both verbally and in writing
• Highly flexible with solid interpersonal skills allowing one to work effectively in a diverse working environment

Hours

• 6:00 am – 2:30 pm, Monday to Friday
• Possible future shifts: 8:00 am – 4:30 pm or 2:15 pm – 10:45 pm
