Job description

In accordance with the Vision, Purpose, and Values, and strategic direction of the Vancouver Island Health Authority (Island Health), patient and staff safety is a priority and a shared responsibility. The continuous improvement of quality and safety is inherent in all aspects of this position.

Reporting to the Manager or designate, the successful candidate will operate, maintain, and repair building systems and equipment. The role involves performing trade duties approaching the journeyman level across various construction trade areas. Responsibilities include working on building demolition, renovation, and construction tasks, as well as building system operation, maintenance, and groundskeeping. The position also involves carrying out related administrative duties and supervising designated staff.

Qualifications: Education, Training, and Experience
  • Graduation from a recognized program in power engineering.
  • At least three (3) years of recent related experience; or
  • An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Certificate of competency as 4th Class Power Engineer.
