Job summary

AgeCare in Mississauga is seeking a Maintenance Coordinator to manage maintenance tasks across electrical, heating, plumbing and mechanical systems in residents' homes. You will ensure safety, perform routine inspections, and coordinate repairs to support resident well-being.

Key duties include repairing beds, taps, toilets, painting and minor carpentry, with a focus on safety, cleanliness, and accurate record-keeping; a valid driver’s license and WHMIS knowledge are required.

Qualifications

• Secondary education with related technical training.
• Experience in maintenance roles.
• Knowledge of WHMIS and safety regulations.

• Valid provincial driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance on electrical, heating, plumbing, and mechanical systems.
• Repair resident care equipment (beds, chairs, taps, toilets).
• Repair walls and paint resident rooms and common areas.
• Assist in minor carpentry and lighting inspections.
• Ensure safety, keep areas clean, and record inspections.

Working in long-term care is more than just a job; it is a calling for many of us.The Opportunity:The Maintenance Coordinator is responsible for performing a variety of maintenance duties related to electrical, heating, mechanical, plumbing systems and building equipment.What Is In It For You:Ensure that work areas are clean and safe, and walkways are free of snow, ice, and debris.Complete all routine fire and other preventative inspections on a scheduled basis and ensure appropriate record keeping.Abide by the occupational health and safety policies and observe all fire, safety, and health regulations and is alert for the safety of residents, staff, and public.Repair faulty equipment affecting resident care (i.e., beds, chairs, taps, toilets and unstop taps/drains based on complexity of operations)Repair damaged walls, painting of resident rooms and common area spaceAssist in the repair and/or maintenance of electrical and mechanical equipment (i.e., pressure vessels, pumps, fans, electrical motors, steam boilers, etc.)In collaboration with the Maintenance Manager, complete all routine inspections of lighting and change bulbs as required.May be required to perform minor carpentry projects and perform other duties as required.What You Will Need:Secondary school education with some related supplemental technical trainingPrevious similar experience in a related capacityUnderstanding and working knowledge of WHMISValid provincial driver’s licenseAbility to perform required physical duties which may include bending, kneeling, reaching, standing for extended periods of time, climbing ladders, lifting, and carrying boxes, tools, and equipment.Salary: $53,000.00 per hourSalary placement based on qualifications and experience.This job posting is for an active, open position, and all applications are reviewed by our team without the use of artificial intelligence (AI).
