Job description

Purpose Of The Job

To source and purchase materials to support the maintenance stores inventory and related maintenance/operations activities at our manufacturing facilities. To coordinate and ensure consistency of approach across the sites for key replenishment and planning parameters to ensure optimal inventory velocity and minimize downtime.

Key Result Areas/Responsibilities

  • Review inventory/stocking levels and coordinate and schedule timely replenishment of maintenance items for each site according to historical demand and established lead times.
  • Source new materials/contractors/services as requested by Operations/Engineering teams.
  • Consolidate and optimize purchasing of MRO supplies where appropriate.
  • Initiate request for quotes and supply agreements, where applicable, for items not already covered under purchasing agreements.
  • Work with suppliers to find new and innovative methods to reduce costs and lead times
  • Other purchasing duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required

  • 5-10 years experience in a manufacturing environment with specific maintenance related duties.
  • Experience working with Automated Maintenance/ERP systems
  • 2-5 years minimum of purchasing and negotiating experience
  • Ability to travel for work up to 30% of the time and legally permitted to travel to the USA.
  • Skilled with Microsoft Office including Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • APICS, PMAC or SCMA certification is an asset
  • Highly organized with a very strong analytical and attention to detail mindset
  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills and able to work with a diverse group of people
  • Comfortable working in a factory environment
