Job summary

Amica Bayview Gardens is seeking a Maintenance Assistant to support the Maintenance Coordinator with daily operations, repairs, and upkeep of the facility and suites. The role requires attention to detail and the ability to perform minor building tasks, safety checks, and inspections to ensure comfort and safety for residents.

The position offers a regular part-time schedule of 32 hours per week, with an hourly rate of $22.19 CAD and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Minimum Grade 12 education is required.
• Fluency in English is essential for communication.
• Basic knowledge of electrical, plumbing and carpentry repairs.
• Basic math skills and understanding of hand tools.
• Familiarity with computer systems: Yardi, Word, Tels.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in tight spaces or from heights.
• Knowledge of HVAC, fire alarm and security systems is advantageous.
• Knowledge of building codes and safety standards is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist Maintenance Coordinator with daily operations and work orders.
• Repair equipment in the facility and in suites.
• Perform painting and minor building touch ups.
• Conduct daily inspections of equipment, pool and grounds.
• Carry out daily fire safety and building security checks.
