Job summary

Capilano Golf and Country Club is seeking a Maintenance Assistant to join the Clubhouse maintenance team. You will support the building maintenance superintendent and assist with upkeep of facilities, minor repairs, and preventative tasks across HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and carpentry.

Working under a senior team member, you will learn essential skills, gain experience in a professional club environment, and grow toward independent responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Experience in carpentry, painting, electrical and plumbing duties.
• Valid British Columbia driver’s license is required.
• Ability to perform physical labour.

Responsibilities

• Perform general maintenance and upkeep of the clubhouse and facilities.
• Complete minor repairs, painting, fixture replacements, and preventative maintenance.
• Inspect facilities and report maintenance issues, safety hazards, and deficiencies.
• Maintain clean, safe, and organized maintenance areas, tools, and supplies.
• Respond to maintenance requests in a timely and professional manner.
• Support seasonal and weather-related maintenance needs.
• Follow all club safety policies and procedures.
• Perform other related duties as assigned

Job description

We are seeking a Maintenance Assistant to join the Clubhouse maintenance team. This position reports to the Building Maintenance Superintendent.

Working under the supervision of a senior team member, this role will assist our maintenance team in all aspects of the work required to maintain, repair and improve the buildings and their mechanical equipment, including flooring, ceilings, walls, HVAC systems, plumbing and electrical wiring. The successful candidate will have hands-on experience in the building trades, including painting, plumbing and electrical.

They will learn the basic skills of the job, become familiar with the work environment, and strive to become an efficient and independent member of the team, with opportunity for growth for the right candidate.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Perform general maintenance and upkeep of the clubhouse and facilities.
• Complete minor repairs, painting, fixture replacements, and preventative maintenance.

Working hours are Monday through Friday from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM.
