Job summary

Amica West Vancouver is seeking a Maintenance Assistant to support daily operations, perform repairs, and conduct safety checks in a casual role. You will assist with work orders, upkeep of grounds, and system inspections to ensure a secure, comfortable living environment for residents.

The position offers growth through certifications in pool operations, fire safety, and mechanical systems, plus an attractive hourly rate and predictable scheduling.

Qualifications

• Minimum Grade 12 education.
• Fluency in oral and written English.
• Basic knowledge of electrical, plumbing and carpentry repairs.
• Basic math skills.
• Basic understanding of hand tools.
• Basic understanding of computers and systems: Yardi, Word, Tels.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs of supplies and equipment.
• Ability to work in small areas and from high heights.
• Knowledge of HVAC systems.
• Familiarity with operational features of fire alarm and security systems considered an asset.
• Knowledge of building codes and safety standards considered an asset

A day in the life of a Maintenance Assistant:

With your attention to detail, you will be responsible for assisting the Maintenance Coordinator with the day to day operations of the facility, including the cleanliness and upkeep of the grounds, repairs and maintenance to all equipment in the building and the suites.
