MAINTENANCE MANAGER

Our client, a large precious metals producer with operations around the world, has retained our services to conduct a comprehensive search for a Maintenance Manager for their flagship operation in Canada. The successful individual will be a consensus builder that has well honed social skills and can continue to build and develop a large, world-class large team while looking to the future.

Duties and Accountabilities:

Reporting to the General Manager, the Maintenance Manager leads the maintenance and reliability functions and is responsible for the development, implementation and management of all maintenance systems and associated procedures that ensure maintenance teams safely deliver high quality, cost effective and reliable asset performance which supports the long-term delivery of business objectives inclusive of shutdown management.

The incumbent is accountable for managing the maintenance workforce through a team that includes the Maintenance General Foreman, Maintenance Specialists, Reliability Specialists, and Maintenance Supervisors, so that budgetary targets are met or exceeded regarding safety and health, maintenance, production, metallurgical and quality performance, operation economics, environmental compliance and productivity. The incumbent must manage and coordinate all the maintenance functions at the Mine and the Mill and be able to consistently deliver results which support the sustainable availability, safe delivery of business objectives and targets. The Maintenance Manager must be prepared to challenge the way we do things, be a strong and successful change agent and be capable of consistently identifying the priorities correctly while working in a self-directed manner.

About You

The ideal candidate is an experienced tradesperson or an Engineer (Mechanical or Electrical) with a strong knowledge of Maintenance Work Management processes and systems, combined with experience in design and successful implementation of these systems. They must also have extensive experience in contractor management and the implementation of robust contractor management processes and systems. A minimum of 10 years of demonstrated maintenance or asset management leadership experience in a similar type of role in a complex mine and processing operation.
