Job description

Position: Maintenance and Operations Coordinator

Reporting to: PRM and VP Operations

Employment Type: Permanent Full Time

Work Environment: The position involves extended hours in front of the computer and sitting; includes work outside and exposure to heat, cold, wind, and precipitation; lifting of materials up to 30 pounds.

Responsibilities:

The Maintenance Coordinator is responsible for carrying out tasks delegated by the PRM or Maintenance Supervisor, which may include but are not limited to:

  1. Scheduling maintenance, elementary work, and servicing according to approved maintenance schedules and company requirements;
  2. Producing purchase orders for required aircraft maintenance;
  3. Updating maintenance records;
  4. Assisting with the production or amendment of reports and publications;
  5. Ensuring work conducted by the organization’s contractors, personnel training, aircraft dispatch, and defect control comply with the company’s Maintenance Control Manual;
  6. Assisting to ensure airworthiness directives (ADs) are followed and aircraft conform to their type design;
  7. Supporting company training, including elementary work and servicing on company aircraft;
  8. Monitoring aircraft inspections, repairs, overhauls, alterations, defect rectifications, and certification of work;
  9. Removing aircraft from operation due to non-compliance with Canadian Aviation Regulations or safety risks;
  10. Consulting with PRM, Maintenance Supervisor, or an AME to sign aircraft into tolerances permitted by maintenance schedules;
  11. Determining when a defect is deferrable and deferring it as per section 5.6.8 of the Maintenance Control Manual;
  12. Performing other related duties as required, potentially including Stores Authority after additional training.

Maintenance Coordinators may initially have limited responsibilities during probation or training until full authority is granted by the PRM.

Additionally, Maintenance Coordinators may be assigned tasks as Operations Coordinators in areas such as:

  • Company dispatch
  • Driving
  • Ramp operations
  • Facility maintenance and organization, including WHS inspections and vendor liaison
