Job summary

Southbridge Care Homes is seeking a Maintenance Aide in Thunder Bay, ON, to support the maintenance department with general upkeep and painting operations. You will be the first point of contact for facility concerns and report to the Environmental Service Manager.

The role requires a post-secondary certificate in a skilled trade or related experience, plus solid knowledge of electrical and mechanical operations, plus strong communication skills to interact with residents and staff.

Qualifications

• Post-Secondary Certificate in Skill trades or related program or high level of experience.
• One year or more of experience in a similar position with working knowledge of electrical and mechanical home operations.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to multitask, time management and can work independently.
• Ability to prioritize work in a fast paced environment.
• Ability to read, write and speak English.
• Ability to work safely following established safety practices.

Responsibilities

• Provide support in the maintenance department, painting operations of the home, general upkeep, as well as making sure everything is as per the company standards.
• Assist with the property maintenance including exterior duties including snow removal property lighting, garbage, and other general operations.
• Other duties as required.
• Participates in company meetings as assigned. Attends in-service education programs.
