The Opportunity:

The Maintenance Technician is required to maintain the community, equipment, and grounds in a safe and efficient manner to ensure a successful and viable preventative maintenance program is maintained at all times. The nature of this job requires that he/she be flexible and work closely with other staff and departments in providing a safe, clean and healthy environment for residents, staff and visitors.

What Is In It For You:

  1. Responsible for the repair and maintenance of inside and outside the building including gardening, landscaping, pest control, etc.
  2. Coordinate / assist in routine ground maintenance, parking areas, driveways, etc by cutting, trimming, sweeping, etc.
  3. Schedule and oversee sub-contract inspections and work with the General Manager on recommendations.
  4. Coordinate and/or perform routine and minor repair of all building and equipment including plumbing, drywall repair, carpentry, mechanical, etc (Major repairs typically performed by contractors).
  5. Monitor and as necessary replace/repair lighting fixtures, call lights, exit lights, parking lot and outside facility lighting, etc.
  6. Complete and/or review daily, weekly, and monthly checklists on building equipment maintenance procedures and ensure accurate and current records of scheduled maintenance procedures.
  7. Ensure Preventative Maintenance Check Sheets and Schedules are followed and provide recommendations for revision to appropriate Management.
  8. Schedule job activities so they can be accomplished within the work day; prioritize activities appropriately.

What You Will Need:

  1. General knowledge of electrical and plumbing systems, with a good understanding of boiler and furnace systems.
  2. Must be able to effectively communicate in English, both orally and in writing.
  3. Prior experience with plumbing, mechanical systems, painting, and general maintenance.
  4. Prior experience in a supervisory role is a definite asset.
