The Role

As a System Administrator at Kyndryl, you will solve complex problems across various platforms and services, working with major clients on innovative projects. Your responsibilities include managing client systems data, providing solutions, ensuring security compliance, and prioritizing tickets to deliver optimal solutions.

This position focuses on supporting IMS (Information Management System), a mainframe-based software system developed by IBM, supporting industries like banking, insurance, and government.

The Mainframe IMS System Administrator / Programmer will handle the installation, configuration, maintenance, and performance tuning of IMS environments on IBM z/OS platforms, ensuring system reliability, security, and efficiency. Key duties include:

  1. Maintaining IMS infrastructure on z/OS.
  2. Supporting IMS-related products and application developers.
  3. Installing, customizing, and testing IMS software.
  4. Performing upgrades and applying maintenance.
  5. Administering IMS DB/DC systems, including system definitions and macro configurations.
  6. Monitoring and optimizing IMS performance with tools like IBM Guardium and IMS Problem Investigator.
  7. Implementing security protocols and managing audit trails.
  8. Managing logs and conducting forensic analysis for compliance and troubleshooting.
  9. Supporting application teams with configurations, batch jobs, and data access.
  10. Collaborating with system programmers, DBAs, and network teams.
  11. Participating in disaster recovery planning and execution.
