Pyramid Consulting, Inc. is seeking a Mainframe IMS DB Tools specialist for a 06+ months contract in Toronto with remote options. The role emphasizes IMS system programming, IMS Tools expertise, and complex migrations within a parallel Sysplex environment.

Key responsibilities include installation, configuration, database management, and customer training on IMS tools and migration processes. Strong knowledge of VSAM/OSAM and PSB/DBD generation is required.

Formación

• IMS system programming and parallel sysplex administration.

Immediate need for a talented Mainframe IMS DB Tools. This is a 06+months contract opportunity with long-term potential and is located in Toronto, ON(Remote).

Pay Range: $102/hr - $103/hour. Employee benefits include, but are not limited to, health insurance (medical, dental, vision), 401(k) plan, and paid sick leave (depending on work location).

Key Responsibilities:

• Core Technical Skills:
• Install, configure and manage IMS in a parallel sysplex environment
• Install, configure and manage IBM IMS Tools
• IMS systems programming
• Establishing policies and procedures pertaining to database management, DR, security, maintenance and utilization
• Reviewing new versions of IMS for functionality, advising how they benefit the client
• Evaluating change requests and determine impact to assigned clients
• Vendor consultations for problems and questions
• DR recovery of application objects
• Lead and execute complex migrations to IBM IMS Tools from 3rd party products
• Develop a project plan with defined phases (Planning, Conversion, Implementation, Cutover) and timelines, ensuring alignment with client objectives and internal best practices
• Conduct customer training sessions and develop presentation materials for IMS Tools and migration processes

• How databases are processed using secondary indexes (PROCSEQ=)
• Correct usage of PROCOPT= to minimize database locking

• How to immediately fix an out of space condition for a VSAM database dataset
