• Business group: CBE Commercial Banking Engineering – team supports 4 mainframe applications, 2 of which are CIA apps, one interlink based Java app, and one cloud application for Business Banking
• Project: Prime minus is a project driven by an audit find that needs to be corrected – in midst of development phase; code control; working on DDA Demand deposit accounting applications / business deposits

Typical Day in Role:
- Conduct code control
- Development – tech stack: Cobol, JCL, DB2, MVS
- Back-end development work with services connecting to front end
- Design, develop, and implement applications using in-demand languages and technologies
- Analyze highly complex business requirements and generate technical specifications to design or redesign complex software components and applications
- Act as an expert technical resource for modeling, simulation, and analysis efforts
- Leverage industry best practices to design, test, implement, and support solutions
- Assure quality, security, and compliance requirements are met for the supported area
Candidate Requirements/Must Have Skills:
- 10+ years of experience as a mainframe developer
- 10+ years’ experience developing complex programs using Cobol
- 10+ years combined experience dealing with JCL, IMS, DB2, RLI, Syncsort, SAS, Comparex, FileAid, Expediter
- 5+ years’ experience using source code control software; i.e., Endevor
- 5+ years’ experience with IST testing
Nice-To-Have Skills:
- Experience designing and developing financial banking systems
- Experience performing evaluation on user requirements with good analysis on costs and benefits
- Ability to learn new tools and concepts at a rapid pace preferred
- Experience developing External and General Design Documentation
- Experience developing complex host applications and applicable interfaces
Soft Skills Required:
- Excellent oral and written skills, both technical and business writing as well as presentation skills
- Ability to lead a team of contractors onsite and offshore
- Flexible and adaptable team player that is service oriented
Education:
• Bachelor’s in technical field
Best VS. Average Candidate:
• Strong Mainframe Development experience in Cobol, JCL, MVS and DB2
Candidate Review & Selection
- 1 round – 1 MS Teams Video Panel Technical Interview – 30 minutes to 1 hour – with technical team; question-based interview
- Hiring Manager’s availability to interview: ASAP, technical team will be interviewing while HM is away
