Job summary

Canada Post is seeking a temporary, on-call Mail Service Courier in Québec, QC. A professional driver with a Class 1 or Class 3 licence and air brake endorsements will use a corporate vehicle to pick up and deliver mail, load and unload postal vehicles, and support customer satisfaction.

Language requirement: French Essential. Responsibilities include loading/unloading, collecting, sorting, and delivering mail, operating portable devices, performing safety checks, and maintaining records.

Qualifications

• Valid Class 1 or Class 3 driver's licence with air brake endorsements.
• Safe driving record for at least 3 years (recent abstract within 30 days).
• Ability to lift mail items up to 22.7 kg (50 lb).
• Availability to work on short notice.

Job description

As a professional driver with a Class 3 or Class 1 licence and appropriate provincial air brake endorsements, you will use a corporate vehicle to pick up and deliver mail, load and unload postal vehicles, and play an important role in ensuring customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload postal vehicles while keeping mail and Canada Post property safe and secure at all times
• Collect, sort, and deliver mail
• Operate portable communications devices
• Perform vehicle safety checks
• Complete documentation and maintain records
• Communicate with customers and the public
• Shuttle corporate delivery vehicles between parking locations and loading platforms to facilitate pre-loading

Required Qualifications

• Valid Class 3 or Class 1 driver's licence (or higher) with the appropriate provincial air brake endorsements
• A safe driving record for at least 3 years (recent driver's abstract or commercial driver's abstract dated within the last 30 days required)
• Physical ability to lift mail items weighing up to 22.7 kg (50 lb)
• Availability to work on short notice

Assets (Nice to Have)

• Experience in customer service
• Experience as a professional driver in commercial delivery
• Experience driving a 5-ton truck or larger
