Full-Time, On-site, Hourly position

Job Duties

• Assembles, repairs, and fabricates parts or components for tools or machines by operating mechanical equipment (such as lathe, mill, and drill machines).
• Reads and interprets blueprints and design sketches to determine the precise specifications, dimensions, and tolerance levels of the finished product.
• Selects and operates the appropriate tools to cut, shape, or finish metal, plastic, or composite material.
• Sets up, services, and maintains equipment to ensure efficient and safe operation.
• Utilizes precision measuring instruments to check the accuracy and quality of machined parts.
• Assembles parts into sub-units or complete units as necessary.
• Must be able to regulate machine factors speed, feed, coolant flow, depth, and angle of cut.
• Must be able to multi-cut tooling, set up and operate machines and detect and report faulty conditions such as incorrect or damaged parts.
• Have an understanding of Basic Insulation Level (BIL) and basics of Transformers.
• Works under supervision and/or guidance from higher classifications.
• Reports to a supervisor or manager.

Requirements

• At least 1 or more years experience with lathe and mill.
• At least 1 or more years related manufacturing experience and/or training in the field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Possess a general knowledge of and operate with little supervision, basic hand and power tools, milling machines, and all drill presses, grinders, buffers, and saws.
• Experience in a fast-paced, production/manufacturing environment.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide all units of measure. Using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• Ability to interpret blueprints.
• Ability to follow all safety practices.
• Ability to maintain high standards of Quality & Production.
• Ability to read, write and comprehend simple instructions.
• Able to regularly lift and move up to 60 lbs. with no assistance.
• Able to work at heights up to 15'.
• Ability to climb a ladder and work at heights above 4 feet.
• Able to work in all types of environmental conditions including heat, cold, dust, oil, and vapor.
• Willing and able to work overtime as required.
• Must have a positive attitude, team player, work well with others and looks for solutions instead of problems.

This is a union position, per union contract.
