- Machinist with a minimum of 10+ years' experience in a machine and fabrication shop environment or engineering department of a manufacturer with heavy machining capabilities. Interpret blueprints and accurately read various measuring tools. Understand machinery, equipment, and material tolerances. Have a solid understanding of quality control and adherence to quality standards. Must possess good time management, problem-solving skills, initiative, and commitment to tasks.
- Responsibilities include:
- Assist with training employees on proper usage of measuring equipment and ISO Quality Policies and Procedures.
- Inspect all machined and fabricated jobs for compliance with drawings, processes, and customer specifications.
- Monitor in-process jobs to prevent non-conformance issues.
- Inspect received items from subcontracted processes to ensure compliance before release.
- Prepare and maintain quality documents, such as certificates of compliance or dimensional reports, as per customer requirements.
- Maintain calibration systems for all measuring instruments.
- Assist and troubleshoot production issues related to drawings and measurement techniques.
- Promote safety, efficiency, and high standards in the work environment.
- Operate measuring equipment according to procedures.
- Identify irregularities and non-conformance issues.
- Manage non-conformance reports and assist in investigations.
- Support the creation and monitoring of ISO 9001 policies.
- Liaise with customers and vendors regarding quality issues.
- Report project status to the President and communicate critical information to coworkers.
