Job summary

Brandt Group of Companies is seeking an experienced Machinist to read blueprints, set up fixtures, and operate lathes, mills, and boring mills. The role requires skilled programing with G-code and familiarity with Fanuc or other controls.

You will work in a high‑quality, low‑volume environment and contribute to team success. The ideal candidate has at least 3 years in machining, a Journeyperson certificate, and knowledge of CNC and conventional machining.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years' practical experience in the machining trade.
• Familiar with conventional and CNC machining.
• Experience on lathes is considered an asset.
• Ability to program in G-code is considered an asset.
• Knowledge of Fanuc, Haas, Siemens, and Mazak controls is considered an asset.
• Journeyperson's certificate from a recognized machining trade school is required.

Responsibilities

• Read, understand, and interpret blueprints.
• Work to tolerances plus or minus 0.001 inch.
• Set up fixtures and work pieces in lathes, boring mills, and milling machines.
• Operate lathes, milling machines, and boring mills.
• Select appropriate cutting tools and machining procedures.
• Select appropriate machining parameters (feeds and speeds).
• Assess customer work pieces and determine appropriate repairs.
• Maintain standard maintenance procedures on lathes, milling machines, and boring mills.
• Work in a low volume, high quality environment.
• Work in a team environment.
• Other duties as assigned.

What You Will Be Responsible For

• Set up fixtures and work pieces in lathes, boring mills, and milling machines.
• Operate lathes, milling machines, and boring mills.
• Select appropriate cutting tools and machining procedures.
• Select appropriate machining parameters (machine feeds and speeds).
• Assess customer work pieces and determine appropriate repairs.
• Maintain standard maintenance procedures on lathes, milling machines, and boring mills.
• Work in a low volume, high quality environment.
• Work in a team environment.
• Other duties as assigned.

What We Look For
