Job summary

Tigercat Industries is seeking a Machining Centre Operator in Woodstock, ON, to safely run CNC mills, lathes and 5-axis machines. You will work with Heidenhain and Fanuc controls, verify tolerances with precision tools, and help maintain equipment and tooling.

This role requires adapting to varying shifts and collaborating with a manufacturing team. The position includes dedicated afternoon and weekend shifts with premium pay, plus comprehensive benefits under a family‑oriented company culture.

Qualifications

Job description

As the Machining Centre Operator, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of machining equipment to produce parts that will stand up to the rugged and challenging terrain of the forestry industry. The successful candidate will have experience operating a variety of CNC machining systems, including mills, lathes, and advanced 5‑axis equipment. Experience with Heidenhain and Fanuc control systems is an asset. Strong competency in the use of precision measurement instruments — such as micrometers and calipers — is also expected to verify that all components meet stringent dimensional and tolerance specifications. In addition to machining responsibilities, the Machining Centre Operator will ensure that all equipment is properly maintained, including routine cleaning and monitoring of machine fluids.

Location: 1403 Dundas Street, Woodstock, ON

Dedicated Afternoon Shift: 4:30pm - 3:00am, Monday - Thursday

Dedicated Weekend Shift: 6:00am – 6:00pm, Friday-Sunday

Shift Premium: $3.00 per hour for afternoons, and $4.00 per four weekend days.

Job Duties

• Setup and operate CNC machines, such as lathes, mills or 5-axis machines, monitoring machine feed, speed, etc. to meet part specifications.
• Load parts onto/into equipment using cranes and other designated lifting devices.
• Align and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, or materials.
• Calculate dimensions or tolerances, measuring, examining and/or testing completed units to check for defects and ensure conformance to specifications using precision instruments - micrometersor Vernier calipers.
• Maintain machines and tooling in proper operational condition

Skills and Experience

• Adapt to a changing work environment, competing demands and able to deal with frequent changes, delays, or unexpected events.
• Machining tasks require collaboration with coworkers; effective communication and reasoning skills are essential when working on projects that involve multiple team members.
• Ability to troubleshoot equipment errors and problem solve effectively and efficiently
• Physical requirements include the use of strength such as pulling, pushing, lifting and/or moving objects during the work, as well as standing, climbing, kneeling, and bending.

Qualifications

• Experience operating Heidenhain and/or Fanuc control systems to efficiently operate horizontal boring mills, CNC vertical mills, and other advanced machining equipment in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of tooling, blueprints, and engineering drawings.
• Adept in the use of measurement tools
