Job summary

Permacon is seeking a Full Time Machine Operator for its Milton plant. The role requires rotating dayshift/nightshift or weekends as needed. You will operate MAS1 wetside, strapping and wrapping machines, and manage setup changes while ensuring quality and proper curing of products.

Ideal candidates have at least 2 years in manufacturing, a high school diploma, and mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic knowledge. Must pass a mechanical aptitude test and adhere to safety protocols.

Qualifications

• High school diploma.
• Wielding, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic knowledge will be an asset.
• At least 2 years’ experience in the manufacturing industry operating equipment.
• Team work oriented, mechanical aptitude, initiative; responsible, able to react, be precise.
• Shall pass the mechanical aptitude test to validate mechanical aptitude.

Responsibilities

• Operates MAS1 wetside machine and ensure its good functioning.
• Operate the strapping and wrapping machines and ensure its good functioning.
• Operate all the equipment related to the machine.
• Follow quality manual; complete quality and production reports; look after curing of the products to ensure good curing.
• Perform set-up changes and start-up adjustments.
• Program equipment and save product recipes to optimize change over.
• Perform preventive maintenance and participate in maintenance work.
• Participate in machine clean-up and Rekers department housekeeping.
• Communicate abnormalities to competent people.
• Work as a team and wear PPE.
