What will you be doing in the Machine Operator position?

This Machine Operator Trainee position will report directly to the Production Supervisor and is a member of the Metrie Manufacturing team. The role will be based out of our Bolton, ON facility.
Shifts Available: Monday to Thursday Night Shift (4:30 PM - 3:00 AM)

Operating Responsibilities:
Engaged in supporting MPS initiatives (i.e., Safety, SMED, Continuous Improvement, 6S, etc.).
Lead by example to ensure Metrie’s core value is met; P.R.I.C.E (Passion, Respect, Integrity, Collaboration, Excellence).
Strong understanding of production scheduling system.
Ability to set up and operate machines to the specifications of the manufacturer.
Understand SAP functionalities, and the necessary production documents (with respect to your role).
Ensure daily production continuously meets the requirements of IFOTIS (In full, On Time, In Spec).
Quality checks as per department requirements.
Safety Responsibilities:
Understand and apply all safety policies & regulations (5 Steps to a Safe Day).
Trained and competent in Job Hazards (JH) as per the Job Hazard Assessment (JHA).
Follow all lockout procedures mandatory within the department.
Demonstrate leadership in accident prevention through LPA reporting.
Conducting S.S.A’s as per scheduled requirements.
Full knowledge of machine operating procedures as per SOP’s and hazard assessments.

$19 Hourly Rate + $2 Night Shift Premium

Frequent: Walking
Occasional: Standing in the same location
Constant: Standing
Lifting: Floor to the waist, waist to floor
Pushing / Pulling: Frequent when relocating production carts
Hand-to-eye coordination and dexterity: Picking, pinching, holding, grasping, and repetitive rotation
