Job summary

Linamar Corporation in Salford, Ontario seeks a Machine Operator to operate and monitor fabrication equipment, read job orders and blueprints, and maintain production records. You will work with a team to ensure quality output, perform routine machine maintenance, and comply with health and safety regulations while meeting daily production targets.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma, prior manufacturing experience, and are able to lift up to 50 lbs; training for forklift/overhead crane

Qualifications

  • Read job orders, drawings, and work orders.
  • Operate and monitor fabrication machines with minimal supervision.
  • Use hand and power tools as needed.
  • Read blueprints and schematics to verify dimensions.
  • Lift up to 50 lbs with assistive devices.
  • Maintain logs and track machine performance.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical issues and report them.
  • Follow health and safety rules and company policies.

  • Inspect finished products for adherence to specifications and quality standards; identify and address any defects or issues.
  • Assisting with routine maintenance on machines to ensure optimal performance; identify and report any mechanical issues to the fabrication supervisor.
  • Must work in accordance with Health & Safety regulations, Company rules, policies, and procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned by the lead hand or supervisor.

Job Title: Machine Operator
Job Summary

As a Machine Operator, you will operate various machines in the fabrication department.

Responsibility

Academic/Educational Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training preferred
Required Skills/Experience
  • Previous experience as a machine operator or in a manufacturing environment is an advantage.
  • Experience operating machinery and knowledge of advanced manufacturing techniques such as 5S would be considered an asset.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
  • Basic math skills and proficiency in using measuring tools.
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs with the assistance of a lifting device.
  • Ability to use hand tools and power tools.
  • Ability to troubleshoot by identifying mechanical errors.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team setting.
  • Ability to operate forklift and overhead crane (training will be provided)
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Must be organized, proactive, and maintain a positive attitude in the workplace.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety.
  • Maintain clean work areas and equipment.
