Carlisle Construction Materials in Canada is seeking an Operator for our production team. This unionized role requires learning and applying all policies to manufacture high-quality products in a fast-paced setting, with minimal supervision and teamwork with another operator.

Expected hours are Sunday–Friday, 7:00 am–3:00 pm. The position emphasizes safety, accuracy, and reliability, with opportunities for career growth and benefits in a supportive, performance-driven environment.

Formación

• Proven ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally.
• Experience operating forklift is preferred.
• Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs and working in a fast-paced environment.
• Knowledge of safety policies and PPE usage.
• Willingness to work overtime, evenings or nights as needed.

Job Description

Job Summary

This position is a unionized role as part of our production team. As an Operator you will be required to learn, understand and put into practice all our policies and procedures to help manufacture the highest quality products in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. You will routinely perform your duties with minimal supervision, independently and in a team with another operator. You must be able to work in an environment with many distractions, maintaining a high level of accuracy and safety, while performing your duties. No travel is required for this position.

• Expected hours of work is Sunday - Friday; 7:00 am - 3:00 pm

Duties and Responsibilities

• Safely follow all applicable health and safety policies and procedures while ensuring your work area is clean & safe.
• Control one or more processing units or inter-related semi-automatic or automatic systems and setting up/adjusting packaging equipment.
• Monitor gauges, signals, scales, and observes products consistency for colour and viscosity.
• Performs chemical or other physical testing during product processing
• Basic troubleshooting and routine maintenance of process equipment
• Utilize the scanning guns to complete timely and accurate inventory transactions.
• Demonstrate a sense of urgency in achieving results
• Any other duties assigned by lead hand and/or management
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Minimum Grade 12 education or equivalent
• Mathematically skilled to operate in volumetric and mass calculations
• Knowledge of Spill clean-up and WHMIS/GIS procedures
• Some experience using hazardous, flammable and explosive materials.
• Knowledge of how to use/follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
• Prior forklift experience is a plus.
• Flexibility to work overtime, evenings or nights.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and possess effective written and oral communication skills
• Capable of lifting 50lbs.
• Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Used:
• Eye and hearing protection is always required on the production floor.
• Safety shoes (steel/composite) on the production floor.
• Other PPE as defined by management within assigned department.

Education and Experience

• High School Diploma or GED is Preferred
• Must be at least 18 years of age or older.
• Prior experience in a manufacturing setting preferred.

Qualifications

• Self-starter and be able to work with little direct supervision
• Previous experience in a production environment
• Effective communication skills
• Must have reliable transportation
• Must be dependable and have a good attendance record
• Previous experience safely operating a forklift
• Flexible to work overtime, as needed

Education and Experience
