Job summary

A nonprofit organization in York Region seeks a machine operator to ensure quality inspection of materials and assist in daily production goals. Candidates should have a high school diploma and experience in machine operations. The role requires standing for 8-hour shifts and heavy lifting up to 60 pounds. Work schedule is Monday to Friday, from 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM.

Job Summary: Ensure raw material has met/passed ISO’s quality-controlled inspection before sing. Place material in machine in order to produce part of a finished product or a finished product. Ensure material being used is made for machine and for the item being produced.

Essential Functions:

• Understand and comply with all company safety policies and procedures and utilize all necessary safety equipment.
• Understand and comply with the company’s Quality Management System (ISO 9001:2008)
• Help meet daily production goals to manufacture product
• Be aware of machine capabilities for production of goods
• Ensure machine is calibrated to perform the task at hand
• Ensure proper directions are followed to operate machine
• Ensure that work area is clean and neat
• Help assure overall cleanliness and safety of work area
• Be prepared to work overtime as needed
• Perform all other activities as requested by management

Knowledge and Skill Requirements:

• Experience in various machine operations
• High school diploma/GED
• Good mechanical aptitude

Working Conditions:

• Standing for 8 hour shifts
• Heavy lifting up to 60 pounds
