Qualifications

  • 2-3 years of prior corrugated experience preferred.
  • Must communicate fluently in English, both verbally and in writing.

  • Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of machines.

Job description

FLEXO / ROTARY DIE / TCY MACHINE OPERATOR
Corrugated Products

Job Category: Operations Hourly

Location: Markham, ON

Schedule: Full Time – Days

We are always interested in hiring Machine Operators with experience at our Markham location.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Flexographic / Rotary Die / TCY press setup.
  • Operate the Emba machine and ensure that print, slots, and scores are correct from a finished product and adjusts when required.
  • Direct activities of Emba 2nd man and 3rd man to ensure that safety procedures are adhered to.
  • Conduct or assist in machine set up such as preparing and mounting print plates, setting up slots and scores, etc.
  • Monitor regular runs for quality and consistency, visually and through conducting regular quality checks according to our procedures for in-process inspection. (Printing quality, ink coverage and spotting material defects)
  • Cleans and lubricates machine and performs other routine machine maintenance as per specified schedule.
  • Technical experience in corrugate converting, preferred with 3-4 colour printing.
  • Must be able to communicate in fluent English both verbally and in writing.
  • Must have basic math skills and be able to use and read a tape measure.
  • Prior corrugated experience preferred (2-3 years)
  • Training in WHMIS
  • High school graduate or equivalent an asset.
Working Conditions
  • Work in all weather, must be prepared for both extreme heat and cold.
  • Will be required to stand for long periods of time and significant lifting, pulling carrying, pushing, and/or pulling, stooping, kneeling, and crouching.
  • Ability to work with hand tools & lift to 30 lbs.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to a noisy environment with moving mechanical/machine parts.
  • Fast paced work environment
  • Some overtime will be required.
