Job Title : Machine Operator

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Machine Operator who will be responsible for performing pre-shift inspections and morning start-up of equipment, operating manual lathes with either a foot press or hand button, stripping materials, and using an overhead crane to move materials. The ideal candidate will follow detailed instructions to set up and operate machinery efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Conduct pre-shift inspections and morning start-up of equipment.
• Operate manual lathes using a foot press or hand button.
• Strip materials as required.
• Utilize an overhead crane to move materials.
• Set up machines according to instructions and specifications.
• Ensure the quality of formed hoses by performing quality checks.
• Package completed products for dispatch.

Essential Skills

Experience in machine operation, specifically manual machine operating.

Proficiency with hand and power tools.

Familiarity with manufacturing environments and processes.

Capability to stand for long periods and perform physical tasks such as bending and lifting 30-40 lbs.

Comfortable working in close proximity to machines.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Punch press experience.

Lathe machine experience.

General labor and insulation experience.

Tooling and CNC machine knowledge.

Work Environment

The role requires working night shifts from Monday to Thursday, 2 : 30pm to 1am. The facility is an industrial environment, which is well-lit but can be a bit dirty and noisy. In the summer, the plant can get hot, though fans are running to provide ventilation.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Ajax, Ontario.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $19.00 / hr.
