Job Title: Line Operator

Company: TROPICALE FOODS IN ONTARIO, CA

Employment Type: Full-Time

We are hiring a Line Operator to operate machinery and ensure quality in our food processing facility. The role involves machine operation, changeovers, and maintaining safety and sanitation standards.

Shifts and Compensation:
  1. First shift: $17.00/hr, 6:00am-2:30pm, Monday to Saturday
  2. Second shift: $17.50/hr, 2:00pm-10:30pm, Monday to Saturday
  3. Third shift: $18.50/hr, 10:00pm-6:30am, Monday to Saturday

Overtime is available. All shifts are five to six 8-hour shifts per week, with Sundays off. Please specify your preferred shift when applying.

Responsibilities:
  • Operate and monitor packaging machinery, ensuring efficiency and quality.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area.
  • Check and document operations of weighers, metal detectors, and coding processes.
  • Record downtime and maintain accurate records.
  • Understand and operate various packaging equipment including coders, tapers, and case packers.
  • Follow GMPs, safety regulations, and sanitation standards.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members.
  • Perform routine preventative maintenance and changeovers.
  • Use good judgment in the absence of supervisors.
  • Maintain company equipment and PPE.
  • Participate in training sessions.
Minimum Requirements:
  • English proficiency; bilingual in Spanish preferred.
  • Strong multi-tasking skills and food industry experience.
  • Basic math, computer, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Excellent attendance and safety record.
  • Ability to interpret instructions in written or oral form.
Education & Experience:

High school diploma or GED, or 2-3 years related experience.

Food Safety & Quality Responsibilities:
  • Adhere to all Food Safety and Quality SOPs.
  • Accurately complete Food Safety & Quality records.
  • Report any Food Safety/Quality issues to management.
  • Attend all related training sessions.
Physical & Environmental Demands:
  • Stand/walk for extended periods.
  • Lifting up to 50 pounds.
  • Frequent twisting, reaching, pushing, and pulling.
  • Use hands for handling objects and controls.
  • Climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, or crouch.

Work environment is a warehouse/production setting, with occasional cold temperatures and presence of food allergens. Flexibility in work schedule is required to support 24-hour production.
