About the role

Coalition is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Machine Learning Scientist I to join our growing AI team. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on the forefront of AI technology, specifically focusing on Large Language Models (LLMs), Agentic models, and other cutting-edge developments in machine learning. You'll collaborate with experienced ML scientists and engineers to develop and enhance intelligent models that address our business challenges, contributing to AI-driven initiatives.

Responsibilities
  1. Assist in the development and execution of machine learning projects, from data gathering and analysis to model prototyping and evaluation.
  2. Support the design and implementation of ML pipelines with a focus on LLMs and agentic models for tasks such as data preprocessing, feature engineering, and model training.
  3. Stay updated with recent advancements in AI research, particularly in LLMs and agentic models, and explore their application within our projects.
  4. Communicate your learning and progress effectively, seeking guidance to enhance your skills and understanding in these advanced areas.
  5. Contribute to fostering a culture of learning and continuous improvement by sharing insights around cutting-edge AI technologies with the team.
Skills and Qualifications
  1. Bachelor's degree in a quantitative or computational field (e.g., Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics) or equivalent practical experience.
  2. Familiarity with machine learning methods and basic statistical analysis techniques.
  3. Exposure to neural networks and deep learning technologies, including some understanding of LLMs and agentic models.
  4. Proficiency in Python and a basic understanding of SQL.
  5. Eagerness to learn and adapt in ambiguous problem spaces with a collaborative attitude.
  6. Strong communication skills with the ability to articulate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Bonus Skills
  1. Basic experience with deep learning frameworks, such as PyTorch or TensorFlow, and their application in LLMs.
  2. Experience with cloud platforms like AWS.
  3. Interest or coursework in AI applications within industries such as Insurance or Fintech.
  4. Experience with DBT, Airflow or similar analytics workflow tools is a big plus.
