Job Description

The Machine Learning Standardization team at TD Bank's AI Platform is dedicated to enabling seamless model deployment and serving for high-performing machine learning models. Our mission is to provide a robust foundation that accelerates the deployment process while ensuring reliability and scalability. We are seeking talented engineers to tackle the exciting challenge of building core capabilities for state-of-the-art AI/ML models. These capabilities will be utilized across the bank to standardize and streamline model deployment, serving and monitoring processes.

As a key contributor to the Machine Learning Standardization team, you will play a pivotal role in designing and implementing critical components of ML libraries and systems. You will collaborate closely with model developers, as well as other talented engineers in the AI Platform team, to create systems that meet the diverse needs of machine learning deployments across various projects within the organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement features that drive standardization and scalability, ensuring consistent practices for model deployment and serving.
  • Collaborate with product owners and technical leads to architect, develop, and optimize core components to support large-scale, enterprise-wide use cases.
  • Provide expertise on fundamental engineering practices for the broader AI/ML engineering team and inspire the adoption of ML engineering practice across the organization.
  • Work closely with model developers and AI Platform teams to build, maintain, and enhance scalable systems that streamline and unify machine learning workflows across the organization.

Customer

  • Interpret the meaning of new strategic directions and set objectives and measurements.
  • Gather and analyze information or data on current and future trends of best engineering practices.
  • Seek information on issues impacting the progress of organizational, engineering and process issues.

SHAREHOLDER

  • Adhere to enterprise frameworks or methodologies that relate to activities for our business area.
  • Ensure respective programs/policies/practices are well managed, meets business needs, complies with internal and external requirements, and aligns with business priorities.
  • Consistently exercise discretion in managing correspondence, information and all matters of confidentiality; escalate issues where appropriate.

EMPLOYEE / TEAM

  • Participate fully as a member of the team, support a positive work environment that promotes service to the business, quality, innovation and teamwork and ensure timely communication of issues/ points of interest.
  • Provide thought leadership and/ or industry knowledge for own area of expertise in own area and participate in knowledge transfer within the team and business unit.
  • Keep current on emerging trends/ developments and grow knowledge of the business, related tools and techniques.

Experience And / Or Education

  • Undergraduate degree required, advanced technical degree preferred (e.g., math, physics, engineering or computer science) Graduate's degree preferred with either progressive project work experience
  • Exposure to building or contributing to Python libraries or APIs.
  • Familiarity with API technologies or frameworks such as Flask, FastAPI and AzureML Online Endpoints.
  • Basic understanding of cloud platforms like Microsoft Azure.
  • Interest in MLOps practices and tools.
  • Foundational knowledge of machine learning and deep learning concepts, including predictive and generative AI.
