General Job Description

This role is responsible for the programming, integration, and support of industrial automation systems, including robotics, PLCs, HMIs and low‑voltage control systems within a plastic injection‑molding environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong interpersonal and communication skills, demonstrate adaptability in a dynamic manufacturing setting, and take a proactive, hands‑on approach to troubleshooting and resolving both production and project‑related challenges efficiently and professionally.

Key Duties and Responsibilities
  • Program and integrate industrial robots, including Fanuc and Motoman for both new and existing equipment.
  • Develop and troubleshoot PLC and HMI applications using platforms such as Beckhoff, Omron, and Allen‑Bradley.
  • Configure and support vision systems, including Keyence, Cognex, and Fanuc.
  • Create and revise electrical schematics using AutoCAD & EPlan.
  • Assemble and wire low‑voltage control panels in accordance with electrical design standards.
  • Integrate robotic and automation equipment, focusing on seamless functionality and system reliability.
  • Set up and maintain industrial communication networks, including Ethernet/IP, EtherCAT, and PROFINET.
  • Install, troubleshoot, and maintain automated machinery, including robotic systems, assembly lines, packaging equipment, conveyors, and vision inspection systems.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to maintenance personnel, contractors, and other stakeholders.
  • Assist injection molding specialists during new product launches and equipment upgrades.
  • Interpret and apply information from electrical schematics and technical documentation.
Education and Qualifications
  • Robotics and Automation diploma, Technologist diploma in Electrical Engineering, Industrial Electrician license, Electronics Technician Certificate or equivalent training and experience.
  • At least 5 years of experience in a similar role is required.
Supervisory Responsibility
  • Report any unsafe activities within the company to the machine group supervisor.
  • Responsible for scheduling and supervising third‑party contractors during installation projects.
Language Skills
  • English proficiency and the ability to communicate well with others.
  • Ability to communicate with skilled trades at all levels of experience and management.
Reasoning Ability
  • Ability to exercise balanced judgment in evaluation situations and make decisions.

Working Hours

Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM. Occasional overtime may be required based on business needs and project deadlines.
