M&A Research Analyst

OVERVIEW

As a Research Analyst, you will play a vital role in supporting our M&A process. Success in this role requires a passion for research, analysis, investments, data, software, and continuous learning. We seek someone eager to grow their career long-term, as you will become an essential part of our current and future investment strategies.

WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING

  1. Qualify M&A prospects by understanding and applying our investment criteria for rigorous screening.
  2. Manage and monitor the quality of data related to our M&A prospects in our CRM, including reports and dashboards.
  3. Conduct primary research on owner-operated businesses, private equity portfolio companies, and potential carve-outs of multinational corporations.
  4. Perform market sizing, industry trend analysis, and competitor research.
  5. Identify and analyze software M&A advisors, brokers, and investment banks.
  6. Identify and analyze relevant third-party data sources such as industry tradeshows and conferences for M&A prospects.
  7. Prepare and report on various statistics and KPIs related to our M&A pipeline.

Minority (

  1. Support capital deployment through ad hoc analysis and special projects with senior M&A and Corporate Development leaders.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  1. 3-5+ years of experience in finance, accounting, software, or data analysis.
  2. Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or Economics (e.g., BBA, BCom).
  3. Self-motivated with the ability to perform independently in a fast-paced environment.
  4. Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  5. Strong organizational, written, and verbal communication skills, along with analytical ability.
  6. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
  7. Leverages AI for research and analysis.
  8. High professionalism and integrity.
  9. Ability to work remotely in the U.S. or Canada.
