Job summary

A healthcare staffing agency is seeking Licensed Vocational Nurses (LVNs) for a contract position in Windsor, Canada. The LVN will provide nursing care, conduct patient and family education, and administer medications according to facility policies. Candidates must hold a current LVN license and have long-term care experience. Experience with PointClickCare charting is preferred.

Job description

Provides nursing care within scope of practice to ensure patients' needs are met in accordance with standards of practice, physician orders, center policies and procedures, and applicable regulations.

• Demonstrates knowledge and appropriate use of the Company Infection Control Manual.
• Participates in and assists with the implementation of the Quality Improvement Program.
• Utilizes the Quality Life Manual for patient identification, placement, and monitoring in appropriate programs.
• Notifies other departments of patient changes, such as room changes, LOA, new admits, discharges, etc.
• Conducts family and patient education.
• Administers medications and treatments timely and according to facility policy.
• Receives, transcribes, and carries out physician orders, if permitted by Nurse Practice Act.
• Participates in rounds with physicians when necessary.

Qualifications

• Currently licensed as an LVN in California if the contract is in California. Hold a compact license if working in a compact state.
• Long-term care experience required.
• Experience with PointClickCare charting preferred.
