A luxury furniture retailer in Toronto is seeking a Luxury Sales Associate to drive sales and provide exceptional client service. The ideal candidate will have over 5 years of experience in commission-based sales, particularly in luxury retail, and possess strong interpersonal skills. About the Role
We’re looking for a Luxury Sales Associate, Furniture – Commission Based to join our high-performing team at Elte. With over a century of heritage in sourcing and curating exceptional furniture, this role goes beyond traditional sales, it’s about becoming a trusted advisor to discerning clients and design professionals.
As part of a legacy-driven, design-led company, you’ll build strong client relationships, offer tailored design solutions, and contribute to Elte’s continued growth. This role offers significant earning potential, creative autonomy, and the opportunity to work at the intersection of aesthetics, service, and strategy.
Key Responsibilities
Sales & Business Development
Drive revenue by meeting and exceeding monthly and annual sales targets
Proactively generate new business with designers, architects, builders, and end clients
Build and manage a personal sales pipeline aligned to Elte’s growth strategy
Client Experience & Relationship Building
Deliver an exceptional, personalized experience throughout the full sales lifecycle
Serve as a knowledgeable design partner, guiding clients toward curated, considered solutions
Conduct in-showroom consultations and attend offsite meetings or site visits
Outreach & Showroom Engagement
Spend up to 50% of your time outside the showroom cultivating relationships and attending trade events
Confidently represent Elte and present product to small groups and industry stakeholders
Support weekend retail hours, key sales events, and activations as needed, including assisting with in-store customer engagement, upholding visual merchandising standards, and delivering an exceptional retail experience to drive sales.
Sales Strategy & CRM
Utilize Salesforce to track leads, manage pipeline, and measure key performance metrics
Regularly review your sales performance to identify growth opportunities
Maintain a polished, brand-aligned showroom environment
Requirements
Experience & Expertise
5+ years in commission-based sales, ideally in luxury retail or furnishings
Consistent track record of exceeding targets and building client loyalty
Skills & Attributes
Strong interpersonal and presentation skills with a client-first mindset
Strategic, self-motivated, and highly organized
Passionate about design, craftsmanship, and delivering exceptional service
Comfortable navigating high-value transactions with confidence and professionalism
Tech & Logistics
Proficient with CRM systems (Salesforce experience a plus)
Valid driver’s license and access to reliable transportation
Flexible availability including some weekends and evenings as needed
Nice to Have
Background in interior design, furnishings, or architecture
Experience working with trade clients or in a design showroom environment
