Job summary

J.D. Irving, Limited in Shediac, NB is seeking a Yard Associate to help customers, locate and load lumber and building materials, and keep the yard safe and organized. This role starts at $16.15 per hour and is part-time with potential for full-time hours based on business needs.

You will greet customers, maintain yard displays with signage and pricing, load and restock inventory, and complete order paperwork. Training is provided for forklift operation.

Qualifications

• Must be 21+ years of age due to forklift operation requirements.
• Grade 12 diploma or equivalent is required.
• Experience in a lumber yard or retail environment is an asset.
• Bilingual (French/English) is an asset.
• Availability for a variable shift schedule including mornings, evenings and weekends.
• Outdoor work in varying weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Greet and assist customers with locating, picking, and loading lumber and building materials.
• Organize yard displays, including signage and pricing.
• Load, unload, replenish, and restock inventory in the yard.
• Operate equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks (training provided).
• Complete paperwork for orders, returns, and damaged goods.
• Stay informed about new products and promotions.
• Maintain safety standards at all times.
