ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

Based at the Detour Lake Mine site, we currently have an exciting opportunity for a Fuel and Lube Truck Operator to join our Mobile Maintenance team reporting to the Mine Maintenance Supervisor.

Detour Lake is the largest gold producing mine in Canada with the largest gold reserves and substantial growth potential. The open pit mine is located in northeastern Ontario, approximately 300 kilometers northeast of Timmins and 185 kilometers by road northeast of Cochrane, within the northernmost Abitibi Greenstone Belt. The mine is situated in the area of the historic Detour Lake open pit/underground mine operated by Placer Dome which produced 1.8 million ounces of gold from 1983 to 1999. The Detour lake operation has a mine life approximately 22 years with an average gold production of 659,000 ounces per year.

The Fuel and Lube Truck Operator will be responsible for ensuring proper maintenance protocols are adhered to and practiced in accordance with fueling and servicing of mining equipment.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Your responsibilities will include:

• Perform all minor field services including preventative maintenance, greasing in inspections on all applicable field equipment
• Fuel and verify lubrication levels on all applicable field equipment
• Identifying and reporting part requirements and supplies as required
• Preparing electronic service reports and documentation in an accurate and timely manner
• Ensure safe and efficient maintenance of equipment and identify any potential risks
• Properly follow company’s policies and Ontario Health Safety Regulations for safe working procedures and environment.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Our ideal candidate has:

• Minimum High School Diploma or GED
• Minimum of three years’ experience as a fuel truck operator servicing heavy equipment, with an understanding of lube requirements for equipment components
• Strong commitment to safety and safe work practices
• Experience working in a remote mining environment is an asset.
