Qualifications

As per the Education Act and Regulations, unless otherwise specified. Appointment of Occasional Teachers in Long Term Assignments shall be filled in accordance with Part A, Article 17.3 of the current OECTA Elementary Collective Agreement, prioritizing unplaced, qualified redundant teacher applicants from the Elementary Teacher bargaining unit, in order of seniority. If unfilled, applications from the Occasional Roster will be considered. We encourage applications from all certified teachers and education students holding or applying for a Temporary Certificate of Registration and Qualification from the Ontario College of Teachers.

Additional Information

The posted end date is subject to change and the assignment may terminate as follows:

  • on a date determined to meet a Board staffing requirement;
  • the last teaching day before the return of the absent teacher;
  • or, no later than the last teaching day of the current school year.

This assignment may end sooner than the posted end date.
