Job description

Nipissing-Parry Sound Catholic Invites Applications For The Position Of TEACHER – LONG TERM OCCASIONAL (LTO) at ST. LUKE. 0.1 FTE – Wednesday Afternoons, Grade 1/2 Early French Immersion. Effective immediately, until approx. November 4, 2025, but not to extend beyond June 26, 2026.

Mandatory Requirements

  • Basic qualifications to teach in the Primary Division
  • French as a Second Language Part 1

Preferred Requirements

  • Sound knowledge of the programs and teaching experience in the listed divisions
  • Repertoire of current instructional and assessment strategies
  • Proficient fluency in French as a Second Language
  • Knowledge and experience in utilizing student learning management systems such as Google Classroom, Google Meet as well as additional G-Suite digital tools and EDSBY, to facilitate instruction and effective communication with parents
  • Demonstrated effective communication skills and the ability to work in a team environment
  • Understanding of the Ontario Catholic Curriculum and effective strategies to teach Literacy and Numeracy
  • Knowledge and experience in implementing balanced literacy and the use of student data to drive instruction
  • Understanding and experience in implementing the CEFR approach into FSL instruction
  • Commitment to supporting the use of technology in instruction and learning, and to promoting an environment of innovation and creativity that engages the 21st century learner
  • Proven ability to implement effective classroom management strategies
  • Commitment to being an active participant in the school's professional learning team to promote student achievement
  • Willingness to actively assume extra-curricular duties
  • Knowledge of, and familiarity with, the school environment would be an asset
